Sammy Slabbinck is a Belgian artist who, after twenty years collecting vintage magazines at flea markets in Bruges, began creating surrealist collages. He juxtaposes the traditional with the modern, often experimenting with proportions and exaggeration. His compositions are distinctive in the way they play with colour, exploring the muted tones of the mid 20th century. In this striking set of images, he considers the role of the TV in modern society.
