Anonymity is a marvellous state of limbo where you can be who you want, the ideal situation in which no judgement of you, or your work, can ever stick. Being anonymous you can change your identity, without running away, simply by denying to be that person or that author.

ANONYMOUS is a collection of photographs from the Michael Hoppen Gallery private collection of vernacular photography. Michael Hoppen has collected anonymous photographs for now over thirty years. This book, published in 2013, is a small selection of some of the gallery's favourite prints.

The amazing pictures which Hoppen gives us can this time also be worn, reproduced as refined precious silk scarves, which are the result of passionate research. They give us the chance to bring into our most intimate private spaces, delicious long-gone girlfriends, unforgettable boxing matches, dearly-loved fluffy kittens, and completely unknown places ... enabling us to carry on living wrapped up in our "sunny" anonymity.
