Photobook

The fourth book published by Japanese photographer Eikoh Hosoe builds upon the approach of his earlier project, Man and Woman (1961). It features photographs of human bodiwa shot in a studio setting against minimal backdrops. Through his use of exposure, Hosoe creates dramatic contrasts that emphasise the dynamism and physicality of these bodies.

First edition hardcover with jacket, slipcase and obi band, comprising 58 black and white gravure photographs. Signed by Hosoe, with a text by Yukio Mishima. 37.4 x 26.5 cm.
